Dehradun — The Central Government has approved a financial package of ₹615 crore for Uttarakhand under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme. Out of this amount, the first installment of ₹380.20 crore has already been released.
Expressing his gratitude, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the special assistance. He stated that this support will play a vital role in fulfilling the Prime Minister’s vision of making the coming decade one of rapid development for Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister emphasized that the state government is committed to accelerating infrastructure development, and this financial support from the Centre will significantly contribute to that mission.
37 Projects Proposed for Assistance
In the current financial year (2025–26), the Uttarakhand government had submitted a proposal seeking ₹619.42 crore in special assistance for 37 development projects. These proposals were effectively presented by Chief Minister Dhami to the Central Government, leading to their swift approval and sanctioning of the amount.
Key Projects to Receive Funding
According to the official communication from the Union Finance Ministry, the allocated funds will support a wide range of infrastructure and development initiatives, including:
Construction of Government Medical Colleges – ₹218.45 crore
Song Dam Drinking Water Project – ₹70 crore
Construction of Ghats, Bypass Roads, and Drainage Systems – ₹36.18 crore
Establishment of Police Stations and Reporting Posts – ₹10 crore
U-Hub Startup Facilitation Center – ₹10 crore
Water Supply and Sewerage Schemes – ₹35 crore
Development of Power Transmission Lines – ₹47.33 crore
Higher Education and Technical Institutions – ₹82.74 crore
Modern ISBT Facilities and Workshops – ₹25 crore
Access Roads to Dakpathar Barrage and Ichchhadi Dam – ₹34.72 crore
Multi-Level Parking in Rishikesh, Aadhat Bazaar Redevelopment in Dehradun, and Undergrounding of Power Lines – ₹45.58 crore
This financial support is expected to boost Uttarakhand’s infrastructure and stimulate progress in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, public safety, water management, and entrepreneurship.
