DEHRADUN: The National Sports Secretariat has started the volunteer training/selection process for the 38th National Games. Candidates, who have registered to become volunteers in the National Games have to go through a tough test, 16 questions in ten minutes.
Since there have been a lot of registrations, 500 candidates are being included in the training/selection process at a time. The National Sports Secretariat has set a target of completing the selection process by January 10.
So far 30,433 registrations have been done to join the 38th National Games as volunteers. Registrations are still going on. According to Prashant Arya, Additional Chief Executive Officer of the National Sports Secretariat, every candidate, who has registered, is being given online training. The team of the National Sports Secretariat is connecting with 500 candidates at a time. The work related to the training/selection process is being conducted in a total of 45 minutes. In this, training is being given in the initial 35 minutes. In the next ten minutes, 16 questions are being asked from each candidate. On this basis, the selection process is being taken forward.
Emphasis will be on deployment at the place where registration is done
Emphasis will be on giving deployment to the candidate who has registered to join the National Games as a volunteer at the same place. However, the selected candidates will be given the option that if they want, they can also contribute in another district.
According to Pratik Joshi, who is associated with the volunteer selection process, it is encouraging that registrations have been done from those districts also where no activities related to the National Games are proposed. According to Joshi, volunteers will be selected by January 10. After this, the selected candidates will be given physical training. Around two to two and a half thousand selected volunteers will play their direct role in this event.
