No student will have to sit on floor in govt schools: DM Savin Bansal
Dehradun: Under the project “Utkarsh”, DM Savin Bansal’s efforts to make government schools smart with modern teaching techniques have started coming to fruition. As per the information provided by the administration on 10 February, schools in remote areas of the district will now get furniture by February. ONGC and HUDCO are cooperating in this work. In this project of the District Magistrate, work worth Rs 2.5 crore is in process for modern equipment LED for teaching system in schools by HUDCO, while ONGC is cooperating in furniture and equipment worth Rs 1.5 crore.
The DM plans to make children modern and competitive along with studies. For which the DM is continuously making efforts at his level. Soon online studies will be possible in schools through LED screens. In this context, a project of Rs 3.5 crore by HUDCO is in the final stage.
Bansal has stressed on making proper arrangements for basic facilities in the schools of Dehradun district, including white board, two LED lights in each room, furniture, outdoor sports etc. An amount of Rs 1 crore has been allocated to the Chief Education Officer’s disposal, with funds distributed to block education officers as per the demand.
On the initiative of the DM, instructions have been given to make newspapers, magazines, dictionaries and biographies of great men compulsory in every school. So that children can get acquainted with the biographies of great men along with vocational education. Children will also study along with sports and entertainment.
Bansal has directed the Chief Education Officer and the concerned block and sub-education officers to ensure the availability of basic facilities such as lighting, water, drinking water and toilets in classrooms of the schools. Additionally, arrangements for repairing water tanks, cleanliness and security as well as quality nutritious food.
