DEHRADUN: During a meeting, held at Secretariat on Monday regarding the Dehradun Elevated Corridor, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officials to start the work on Rispana and Bindal Corridor soon. The Chief Minister instructed the officials to request central assistance for connecting the Dehradun Elevated Corridor to the Expressway and to start work from the State Sector soon. In view of the rapid increase in the population and number of vehicles in Dehradun, the increase in the number of tourists and the possible increase in traffic after the construction of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, the CM stressed the urgency to start the work on Dehradun Elevated Corridor soon.
It is worth mentioning that the construction work of 11 km long four-lane elevated corridor is to be done on the bed of Rispana river and 15 km long on the bed of Bindal river. The public services power line, high tension line, sewer line located inside these rivers are to be displaced outside the river. Along with the elevated road, retaining wall and construction and flood protection work will be done on both sides of the river. In view of which the CM instructed all the linear departments to work in coordination. He emphasised that in view of the increase in population and vehicles, work should be done on a well-planned strategy for other cities of the state as well.
The Chief Minister also directed that all ongoing development work in the state should yield tangible results on the ground. Special attention should be paid to the quality and timeliness of the works. He further directed that preparations should also be started for the upcoming Rajjat Yatra. He asked the Chief Secretary to regularly review the works of UIIDB, the Dehradun Elevated Road, connectivity projects for Garhwal and Kumaon, the Mansakhkhand Mandir Mala Mission and preparations for the upcoming Nanda Rajjat.
Vice Chairman of State Infrastructure Monitoring Council Vishwas Dabur, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Principal Secretary R.K. were present in the meeting. Sudhanshu, Chief Forest Conservator Dhananjay Mohan, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Nitesh Jha, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, V. Shanmugam, S.N. Pandey, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, Ranveer Singh Chauhan, Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal, Vice President MDDA Banshidhar Tiwari, SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh, Municipal Commissioner Namami Bansal and related officers were present in the meeting.
