Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a high-level meeting at his official residence on Friday to address the recent incident involving a minor in Nainital. Expressing strong concern, CM Dhami directed officials to take strict and immediate action against those responsible for disrupting law and order.
The Chief Minister instructed the Nainital District Administration to ensure the safety and well-being of the victim and her family. “The government stands firmly with the victim and her family. No leniency will be shown towards the perpetrators,” he stated.
He further emphasized the need to act against individuals and groups spreading misinformation or rumors, particularly via social media. CM Dhami stressed that any attempt to distort Uttarakhand’s cultural identity or communal harmony will not be tolerated. “Devbhoomi’s unity is paramount. Anyone who tries to harm it will face strict legal action,” he said.
Highlighting the importance of safety for pilgrims and tourists, the Chief Minister directed all departments to remain fully alert. He warned that any negligence in maintaining security protocols would lead to disciplinary action.
In a broader directive, CM Dhami ordered District Magistrates to expedite verification processes concerning tenants, street vendors, illegal encroachments, and fraudulent certificates. All reports on the actions taken are to be submitted within three days.
