CHAR DHAM YATRA – 2024: Portals opened today on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya

Kedarnath Dham adorned with 20 quintals of flowers

Registration went beyond the figure of 22 lakh

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Char Dham Yatra started today on the auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya, 10 May 2024. Portals of Kedarnath Dham, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dahm are opened today. The portals Gangotri Dham are opened at 12:25 pm whereas the portals of Kedarnath Dham are opened at 7 am. Two days later the doors of Badrinath Dham would open on 12 May at 6 am.

The Panchmukhi Doli of Lord Kedarnath reached at Kedarnath Dham yesterevening. The President of Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) Ajendra Ajay welcomed the Panchmukhi Doli at Kedarnath Dham. On this occasion, BKTC members Niwas Posti, Virendra Aswal, Chief Executive Yogendra Singh, BJP District President Mahavir Panwar, Dinesh Uniyal were among those who welcomed the Panchmukhi Doli. Uttarakhand Culture and Arts Council Vice President Madhu Bhatt also reached Kedarnath Dham.

 

In the opening ceremony the Kedarnath Temple is decorated with 20 quintals of flowers. The BKTC President Ajendra Ajay told to media that the flowers reached the holy shrine via helicopters and the devotees are overwhelmed and elated over such arrangements. On this occasion the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami also congratulated and welcomed the devotees of Kedarnath Dham via his X handle. He wrote – Heartly welcome greetings to all the devotees in Shri Kedarnath Dham in Chardham Yatra-2024. Hail Lord Kedar!

According to the Uttarakhand Tourism Department 22,76,696 people had registered till Thursday to visit the Char Dham shrines and Hemkund Sahib. According to official data 7,83,107 people have registered to visit Kedarnath, 6,83,424 to visit Badrinath, 4,06,263 to visit Gangotri and 3,56,134 to visit Yamunotri. Apart from the Char Dham shrines 48,041 people have registered to visit Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara.
