Char Dham Yatra 2025: No Compromise on Security; Immediate Action Against Fake News – CM Dhami

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has emphasized that there will be zero tolerance on security lapses during the Char Dham Yatra 2025. Chairing a virtual meeting with District Magistrates and senior officials, the CM directed stringent security arrangements at all religious and tourist sites, especially along the Char Dham route.

He instructed District Magistrates to ensure regular monitoring and share accurate updates through verified channels to counter misinformation. “Strict and immediate action must be taken against those spreading fake news through any medium,” the CM said.

Dhami also called for strict enforcement of tenant verification, including individuals living in carts, stalls, and slums. He emphasized legal action against those issuing government documents—such as ration cards, Aadhaar, and Ayushman cards—to ineligible individuals.

Additional directives included:

Forest Fires: Proactive forest fire management and legal action against those responsible.

Dengue Prevention: Continuous fogging operations and public awareness campaigns.

Summer Preparedness: Uninterrupted power and water supply, especially in hospitals.

Kainchidham Festival: Ensure road maintenance and adequate parking arrangements.

The CM also mandated surprise inspections of government offices to improve public service delivery, regular Tehsil Day and BDC meetings, and close monitoring of smart meter implementation and electricity billing issues.

He further instructed that:

Tenders up to ₹10 crore should be awarded to local contractors.

District officials should maintain regular contact with industry representatives.

Districts must meet targets under the CM Solar Self-Employment Scheme.

On Char Dham Yatra arrangements, Dhami stressed traffic management, road conditions, sanitation, and fair pricing. Local horse and mule operators should be prioritized to support regional livelihoods.

The meeting was attended virtually by Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, Additional DG of Police A.P. Anshuman, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, and all District Magistrates.
