Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the ‘Swachhata Apnao, Bimari Bhagao’ program under the special cleanliness campaign at Gandhi Park Dehradun on Wednesday. During this, he himself gave the message of cleanliness by sweeping. On this occasion, the Chief Minister flagged off cleanliness vehicles (liter drinking cleaning machine) for 13 districts through the Panchayati Raj Department. During the program, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi by cleaning his statue and also administered the oath of cleanliness to everyone.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan can be done effectively only through collective efforts. Everyone should work on the Swachh Bharat Mission with full capacity while discharging their social responsibilities. We all have the responsibility of cleanliness of the cities. He said that to prevent diseases during the monsoon, Paryavaran Mitras have discharged their responsibility with full dedication. A special Swachhta Abhiyan is going on in the state from 12 to 15 August. In Dehradun also, public awareness work is being done with the help of various social organizations, youth & NGOs.

Praising the Baini Sena, which created awareness about cleanliness in Haldwani, the Chief Minister said that cleanliness is an integral part of our culture and civilization. Cleanliness has also been described as important in the Vedas and Puranas. Where there is cleanliness, there the gods and goddesses reside. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the entire country. This beginning of cleanliness has emerged as a mass movement. He said that the state government is continuously working in the field of cleanliness in urban and rural areas. For which the state government is continuously working on many schemes.

The Chief Minister said that there is a deep connection between cleanliness and environment. To keep the environment clean, we have to give priority to cleanliness. Technology is also to be promoted to promote cleanliness. Soon the system of QR code will also be started to monitor cleanliness. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign for environmental protection. He urged everyone to plant trees under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.

Cabinet Minister Premchand Aggarwal said that a special campaign is being run for cleanliness through urban development. A campaign has been launched to clean every city of the state. Environment friends have a very important contribution in this cleanliness campaign. He said that the honorarium of environment friends has also been increased under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. It is the collective responsibility of all of us to keep the environment clean.

During this, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, MLA Khajan Das, MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, outgoing Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, Metropolitan President Siddharth Agarwal, Dehradun District Magistrate Sonika, Additional Secretary Urban Development Nitin Bhadauria, Municipal Commissioner Municipal Corporation Gaurav Kumar were present.
