A cloudburst in Rudraprayag district’s Basukedar tehsil, Bareth Dungar Tok region, on Thursday night caused heavy damage as debris and water gushed into several villages. The district administration has launched relief and rescue operations on a war footing.
District Magistrate Rudraprayag, Prateek Jain, is monitoring the situation from the Disaster Control Room and coordinating with officials. Revenue and district-level officers have been deployed to affected villages. Teams from NH, PWD, and PMGSY are working to clear blocked roads while alternative routes are being used to send rescue teams.

Syur: One house damaged, a Bolero vehicle washed away.

Teams from NDRF, SDRF, Police, and Revenue Department are actively engaged in shifting affected people to safer places and providing immediate assistance.
CM Dhami’s Directions
Following reports of cloudburst incidents in Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Tehri, and Bageshwar districts, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami spoke to the District Magistrates over phone and directed them to speed up relief and rescue operations. He instructed officials to ensure that affected people are immediately shifted to safe locations without any delay.
During a high-level disaster management meeting at the CM residence, Chief Minister Dhami instructed officers to restore roads, electricity, and drinking water supply on priority. He further directed that compensation as per norms be provided to affected families without delay. He emphasized that the government and administration must remain on alert mode throughout the monsoon season and all required resources should be made available to districts promptly.
