Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi by remembering him on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

In his message issued on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti, the Chief Minister said that the life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi inspires us to follow the path of truth, non-violence and peace. He played an important role in liberating the country from British rule. The Chief Minister said that Mahatma Gandhi fought for the independence and equality of India. He emphasized the importance of education and social reform. He said that Gandhi Jayanti gives us an opportunity to take inspiration from his philosophy of life.

In his message, the Chief Minister said about Lal Bahadur Shastri that by giving the slogan of ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’, he showed the way to the nation to stand firmly with self-respect and unity. The Chief Minister said that Lal Bahadur Shastri was a true son of Mother India, who dedicated his life for the independence of the country.  Shastri set an amazing example of simplicity, integrity, diligence, morality and dedication to the nation in public life. His reputation for honesty and high ideals will always inspire us.

Chief Secretary, Govt of Uttarakhand, Radha Raturi paid floral tributes to the portraits of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri at the Secretariat on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and Shastri Jayanti. On this occasion, Bharatkhande Music College sang Gandhi’s favourite bhajan Vaishnav Jan in unison.

In her address on the occasion, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi said that every year on this day we remember two great leaders Gandhi and Shastri. Father of the Nation Gandhi’s favourite bhajan Vaishnav Jan contains a complete philosophy, which inspires us to maintain many human values ​​of life. Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts and principles are relevant to us even today. We should follow the path shown by him so that we can build a better society. We should take inspiration to follow the path of truth, non-violence and love. Mahatma Gandhi’s life teaches us that truth and service to humanity are most important.  Chief Secretary Radha Raturi said that the true tribute to Mahatma Gandhi would be if the government servants perform their duties and responsibilities with full humanity and sensitivity while keeping public interest as the top priority. All the officers and employees of the Secretariat were present on this occasion.

Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari paid tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on the occasion of their birth anniversary by offering floral tributes to their pictures at the Information Directorate located on Ring Road, Dehradun.

Director General Banshidhar Tiwari said that the path of non-violence shown by the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, we should work towards establishing peace, prosperity and harmony in the society by following his principles in our lives. Gandhi’s ideals of truth and non-violence inspire all of us to move forward unitedly. He said that we should move ahead in life by following the ideals of lifestyle based on the values ​​and principles of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.

On this occasion, Additional Director Ashish Kumar Tripathi and Deputy Director Manoj Kumar Srivastava along with other officers and employees of the Information Directorate were present.
