CM Dhami Doon Hospital Inspection
Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday evening conducted a surprise inspection of Government Doon Medical College Hospital and reviewed the overall health services, quality of treatment, and facilities being provided to patients.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister personally interacted with patients undergoing treatment and their family members to get first-hand feedback on the medical services. He listened to their suggestions, assessed the current arrangements, and issued clear instructions to the hospital administration for necessary improvements.
Focus on Facilities for Timardars
Emphasizing the need to enhance the facilities for attendants (Timardars), the Chief Minister inspected the hospital’s waiting area (Pratishthaalaya). He directed officials to ensure proper arrangements for clean drinking water, fans, adequate seating, and a comfortable environment for the attendants accompanying patients. Dhami said that attendants form an important part of the hospital ecosystem and their mental comfort directly supports patients’ recovery.
Directions on Cleanliness and Hospital Management
Dhami instructed hospital authorities to strengthen cleanliness measures, regular sanitization, and immediate painting and maintenance work within the premises. He said that a hospital is not just a treatment center but also a place of emotional and physical support for patients and their families, therefore cleanliness, beautification, and good management are of utmost importance. He reiterated that the state government places equal priority on the convenience and dignity of patients as well as their families.
Inspection of Blood Sample Collection Center
The Chief Minister also visited the Blood Sample Collection Center and obtained information about the process of sample collection, recording, and laboratory testing. He appreciated the use of modern technology and efficient resources at the center and directed continuous monitoring to maintain efficiency and transparency.
Review of Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana Help Desk
Dhami also reviewed the functioning of the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana Help Desk located in the hospital. He interacted with staff and beneficiaries to understand the status of card distribution, claim settlements, and the assistance being provided to the public. He directed officials to ensure that every eligible person receives the benefits of the scheme without any difficulty.
Calling the Atal Ayushman Yojana a “Sanjeevani” for poor and needy patients, the Chief Minister said that it is the responsibility of all departments to remain alert and proactive for its effective implementation. He stressed that the help desk must provide simple, clear, and quick information to all visitors.
Commitment to Robust Health Services
The Chief Minister instructed hospital administration, doctors, and staff to ensure transparency, sensitivity, and quick service delivery in the health sector. He reiterated that providing timely and quality healthcare is the top priority of the state government, which is fully committed to strengthening public health services and ensuring that citizens get better facilities in government hospitals.
Senior officials including Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, the Medical Superintendent, senior doctors, administrative officers, and other health department officials were present during the inspection.
