CM assures withdrawal of cases against protesting youth
Dehradun – In a significant move to address the concerns of protesting candidates, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami personally reached the Parade Ground on Monday afternoon and assured the youth that the government will recommend a CBI inquiry into the recent Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) recruitment examination.
The Chief Minister said the government does not want to leave any scope for doubt or suspicion in the minds of the youth. “Our sole commitment is to ensure complete transparency in every recruitment process. For the last four years, we have worked with this resolve and have successfully conducted more than 25,000 recruitments without any controversy. This is the only case where a complaint has been raised, and we want to clear every doubt,” Dhami said while addressing the protesters.
CM Reaches Protest Site Unannounced
Breaking protocol, the Chief Minister arrived at the protest site without prior notice to hold a direct dialogue with the candidates. “If I wanted, this discussion could have taken place in my office. But seeing your struggle in the heat during the festive season, I decided to come here myself. I want to assure you that I stand firmly with the youth,” he said.
The CM made an emotional appeal, acknowledging the hard work and aspirations of young job seekers. “I understand the struggles of students preparing for government jobs. I have witnessed such situations closely during my student days, and I know how important these examinations are for your future,” he added.
SIT Already at Work, But CBI Probe to Follow
Dhami informed the youth that the matter was already under investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by a retired High Court judge. “The SIT has begun its work. However, since you are demanding a CBI investigation, we will recommend a CBI inquiry in this case. There will be no obstruction in this process,” he assured.
Cases Against Protesters to be Withdrawn
In a conciliatory gesture, the Chief Minister announced that any cases filed against the youth during the protest will be withdrawn. “This is your fight for a fair system, and the government respects your sentiments. We want Uttarakhand, in this Amritkaal of a developed India, to emerge as the best state in the country — and our youth will be the biggest contributors to that vision,” he said.
