DEHRADUN: Major Overhaul Begins at Parade Ground Government School on DM’s Initiative

Administration allocates ₹42 lakh to improve educational infrastructure

Dehradun, 16May: The government-run primary and secondary school located at Parade Ground is undergoing a much-needed transformation, thanks to the proactive efforts of District Magistrate Savin Bansal. Upon observing the deteriorating condition of the school building—particularly the severely damaged roof—DM Bansal immediately sanctioned a budget of approximately ₹42 lakh to begin urgent repair work.

Following his directions, the renovation project has commenced at a rapid pace. Acting on the DM’s orders, the Chief Education Officer initiated the repair efforts, which are now being carried out on a priority basis.

To ensure that similar issues are addressed across the district, DM Bansal has instructed all Block Education Officers to conduct thorough inspections of schools in their respective areas and submit detailed reports. Emphasizing the significance of educational institutions, he stated, “Schools are not just places of learning—they are where the future of the country is shaped. Ensuring their quality and safety must be our highest priority.”

He further stressed that if any school buildings are found to be unsafe, students must be immediately relocated to alternative, secure facilities. Strict accountability has been placed on Block Education Officers to guarantee the safety of schoolchildren.

This swift and thoughtful response by the District Magistrate has been widely appreciated by parents and local residents. Beyond ensuring the physical safety of students, the initiative is seen as a significant step toward creating a more conducive and quality-driven educational environment.
