Dehradun Railway Station to get escalator for Platform No 3 soon

Dehradun: According to the railway authorities, the installation work on the automated escalator for Platform No 3 is in final stages and will become operational soon after getting the permission from the higher officials. At present, there is only one automated escalator in operation at Dehradun Railway Station. With the new escalator, one will not have to climb the stairs of the foot overbridge to reach Platform No 3.

It may be recalled that for the convenience of passengers Dehradun Railway Station is being continuously upgraded with new and better facilities. As a part of this, a new escalator is being installed at the Dehradun Railway Station, which will facilitate the passengers need to go or alight from Platform No 3. So far, there is one escalator at the railway station which is meant for Platform No 4 and 5. However, the passengers either alight from the train to exit the railway station at Platform No 3 or come to the railway station to catch train from the same platform, currently have to climb the stairs of the foot overbridge, which is highly inconvenient for the sick, specially abled and elderly passengers.
