Over 550 Villagers Benefit from Multi-Purpose Camp Organized by District Administration

Dehradun– A multi-purpose camp organized on Tuesday by the district administration proved to be highly beneficial for residents of remote villages, with more than 555 people availing themselves of various government services and welfare schemes. The camp brought together 25 departments under one roof to provide on-the-spot solutions, financial assistance, and awareness about ongoing welfare initiatives.

Financial Assistance and Distribution of Benefits

During the inspection of departmental stalls, the District Magistrate (DM) handed over a farm machinery bank worth ₹5 lakh and a subsidy cheque of ₹4 lakh to the NRLM-affiliated Nayi Disha Mahila Self-Help Group under the Agricultural Mechanization Scheme. Additionally:

  • A cheque of ₹5 lakh was given to the Shiv Krishak Self-Help Group through the Cooperative Department.

  • A cheque of ₹1.60 lakh was handed to farmer Sandeep Chauhan under the Animal Husbandry scheme.

As part of Nutrition Month, the Child Development and Women Empowerment Department conducted symbolic programs including three god bharai (baby showers), three Annaprasan (first food ceremonies), and distributed:

  • Nutrition kits to three malnourished children,

  • 10 adolescent nutrition and hygiene kits,

  • Five Mahalakshmi kits.

Under the Vayoshree Yojana, the Social Welfare Department distributed assistive devices to 62 senior citizens and wheelchairs to two differently-abled individuals.

Villagers’ Issues and DM’s Directives

Residents from villages such as Thena, Utail, Kahanera Punah, Bhagna, Vadhana, Khatar, Kopti, Bhandrota, Gothan, and Visoi raised concerns related to roads, drinking water, electricity, irrigation, education, damaged properties due to disasters, compensation, and social welfare benefits.

The DM responded with clear instructions to departments:

  • Roads & Water Supply: Address complaints of damaged drinking water lines and culverts in Kahanera, Sarsona Baisogilani, and Dadoh. PWD and PMGSY were directed to jointly inspect and transfer responsibility for the Banjara Panchayat road. Immediate clearance of bushes on the Panjia motor road was also ordered.

  • Electricity: Survey for a new power line from Kofti to Bhugad and expedite Haripur line connection.

  • Health & Welfare: CMO directed to inspect and resolve issues at the Khatar ANM Center; an agriculture and animal husbandry vaccination center to be set up in Besogilani; a multipurpose camp in Pajit Ilaani; and a mini-Anganwadi center in Bhandrota.

  • Livelihood & Schemes: Fisheries Department instructed to hold camps to connect farmers with schemes; Agriculture and Cooperative departments to ensure wider outreach of benefits.

The DM assured villagers that their problems would be addressed on priority and directed all departments to prepare action plans accordingly.

Services Provided at the Camp

The multi-purpose camp facilitated on-the-spot resolution of a wide range of issues:

  • Health Services:

    • 268 people received health checkups and free medicines from allopathic doctors.

    • 140 people received checkups and medicines from the Homeopathy Department.

    • 25 Ayushman cards and 10 disability certificates were issued.

  • Social Welfare:

    • Pensions sanctioned for six elderly citizens, one widow, and 10 differently-abled people.

    • Assistive devices such as waist belts, knee belts, and canes distributed to 62 elderly persons.

  • Revenue & Identity Services:

    • 11 income, caste, and residence certificates issued.

    • Aadhaar updates and new Aadhaar registrations for 15 people.

    • Panchayati Raj Department provided seven family register copies, eight birth and death certificates, and processed 12 new ration card applications.

  • Agriculture & Allied Sectors:

    • PM Kisan Samman Nidhi distributed to 36 farmers.

    • Small agricultural equipment and medicines distributed to 68 farmers.

    • Horticultural tools, vegetable seeds, pesticides, and garden cards given to 23 beneficiaries.

    • Free veterinary medicines provided to 50 livestock farmers.

  • Other Departments:

    • Cooperative Department registered/renewed seven labor cards.

    • Tourism Department registered nine people.

    • Labor Department registered 33 workers.

    • Fisheries resolved 25 cases, Dairy 15, PNB nine, and Electricity Department seven related complaints.

    • Supply Department resolved 20 ration card grievances.

    • Employment Department provided career counseling to 14 youth.

    • Child Development Department distributed nine Mahalaxmi kits and 10 Kishori kits.

The camp was attended by Block Pramukh Kalsi Meera Chauhan, Zilla Parishad member Rekha Negi, Panchayat members Rakesh Singh Tomar and Gambhir Singh Tomar, local representatives Chandan Singh, Narendra Singh, Vipin Chauhan, and Purnima Chauhan, divisional president Pradeep Kumar, SDM Yogesh Mehra, SDM Chakrata Premlal, Project Director Vikram Singh, DDO Sunil Kumar, CMO, and district-level officers from 25 departments.
