Diwali 2024: This time there is confusion in the minds of people about Diwali, Govardhan Puja, Dhanteras and Bhai Dooj. Whether Diwali will be on 31st October or 1st November, the date is not clear. Some people are considering 31st October as Diwali, while some are talking about celebrating Diwali on 1st November. To remove this confusion of the people, we communicated with Pandit Kamleshwar Prasad Chamoli, Acharya and took his opinion.
According to Pandit Kamleshwar Prasad Chamoli, Acharya, 1st November Friday is the date of Badi Diwali and Lakshmi Pujan. Diwali will be celebrated on this date. While removing the confusion among the people, he said that there is a doubt in everyone’s mind that when should Diwali be celebrated? He clarified that you people should not be in any confusion and celebrate Laxmi Pujan and Badi Diwali on 1st November. Our Uttarakhand Vidvat Sabha has also decided that Badi Diwali will be celebrated on 1st November and it will be auspicious to worship Laxmi. This is also the opinion of all the scholars.
Acharya further said that nowadays people are being misled through social media, so do not be confused and it will be best to worship Pitru, Lakshmi, Ganesh, Kuber etc. on 1st November.
The auspicious time for Lakshmi worship will be from 5:15 pm to 8:40 pm.
According to Pandit Kamleshwar Prasad Chamoli, Acharya, the meaning of celebrating Diwali is that on this day Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after conquering Lanka and the people of Ayodhya celebrated Diwali by lighting lamps and worshipping Ganesh and Lakshmi in this happiness.
29 October, Tuesday is Dhanteras Dhanvantari Jayanti. On this day, Goddess Lakshmi and Dhanvantari appeared from the churning of the ocean, so on Dhanteras, Goddess Lakshmi, Ganesh and Dhanvantari are worshipped. Buying new utensils, gold, silver etc. is considered auspicious.
The auspicious time for Dhanteras worship will be from 6:15 pm to 8:40 pm, in the meantime you can worship Lakshmi Ganesh.
31st October is Chhoti Diwali and Narak Chaturdashi. On this day Lord Krishna killed a demon named Narakasura and freed 16,000 women from the captivity of demons. On the happy occasion, all the gods celebrated Chhoti Diwali by lighting lamps.
Govardhan Pujan will be celebrated on 2nd November and Bhaiya Dooj will be celebrated on 3rd November.
