Doon University Contributes One-Day Salary to CM Relief Fund to Support Disaster-Affected Families
Dehradun: In a remarkable display of solidarity, Doon University Vice Chancellor Prof. Surekha Dangwal paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his residence on Wednesday. During the meeting, Prof. Dangwal presented a cheque equivalent to one day’s salary of all teachers, officers, and employees of Doon University as a contribution to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The contribution aims to assist people affected by the recent disasters in the state.
Chief Minister Dhami lauded this gesture, describing it as “not only an inspiring step in this time of crisis, but also a reflection of the social responsibility and sensitivity of the state’s educational institutions.” He extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Vice Chancellor and the entire university fraternity for their collective effort.
Expressing confidence that such initiatives would encourage others, the Chief Minister said, “We hope that other educational, social and private institutions will also come forward and extend their cooperation in disaster relief and rehabilitation work.”
The Chief Minister further emphasized that the state government is prioritizing swift relief and rehabilitation operations in the affected regions. “With active public participation, these efforts will gain momentum and reach those in need more effectively,” he added.
