Uttarakhand Roadways has significantly expanded the number of Volvo buses operating between Dehradun-Delhi in view of increasing number of tourists in tourist season and problems faced by the passengers. Uttarakhand Roadways has the facility of deluxe buses for the passengers who want to complete the journey in less time. The corporation has increased the number of super deluxe Volvo buses. Now the Volvo bus operations have been started at 4 am Dehradun to Delhi. Till now the first Volvo service used to start at 5 in the morning. The fare from Dehradun to Delhi in Volvo Bus has been fixed at Rs. 940. While the fare till Gurugram is Rs.1,045. Maximum seats of these buses are being booked in advance through online booking. A total of 29 Volvo buses are operating on the Dehradun-Delhi route. Of these, 25 buses are directly for Dehradun-Delhi, while two buses are going from Dehradun to Delhi via Rishikesh-Haridwar. The remaining two buses are being operated from Dehradun to Gurugram via Delhi. According to Deepak Jain, GM Operations, Transport Corporation, all Volvo buses are non-stop and cover the Dehradun-Delhi journey in about 4 to 4.5 hours. The last Volvo bus from Dehradun to Delhi is at 12 mid-night and the last Volvo bus from Delhi to Dehradun is scheduled at 1 am. All Volvo buses are being operated from expressway and bypass.
