First Automatic Parking Facilities Ready in Doon, to be Dedicated to Public Soon by CM

Dehradun: Fulfilling Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s vision of a modern Uttarakhand, the Dehradun district administration has successfully completed the development of automatic mechanical parking systems at three key locations in the city. These include facilities with capacities of 132 vehicles at Tibetan Market, 96 vehicles at Parade Ground, and 18 vehicles at Coronation Hospital. The Chief Minister will soon inaugurate these facilities and dedicate them to the public.

The automatic parking system at Coronation Hospital has already started operating, providing seamless parking for hospital staff vehicles. This, in turn, has freed up more ground-level space for patients and their attendants. The testing and trial commissioning of all three facilities have been completed.

Under the leadership of District Magistrate Savin Bansal, technically trained operators have been deployed to ensure smooth functioning of these parking systems, along with insurance cover to protect vehicles against any unforeseen damages.

This innovative initiative by the district administration is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion by providing multi-level parking solutions in compact spaces. It also sets a precedent for developing similar automatic parking facilities at other locations in the city in the future.

The district administration continues to explore more sites for such automated multi-level parking systems, aiming to make traffic smoother and provide better convenience to the general public.
