GST Savings Festival 2025: CM Dhami Promotes Local Products, Highlights GST Reforms

Reduced GST Rates to Benefit Common Man: Dhami

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a public awareness program held at Patel Nagar, Dehradun, on the occasion of the “GST Savings Festival.” The initiative was aimed at informing traders and the general public about the benefits of the recently reduced GST rates.

Interacting with shopkeepers, traders, and local residents, the Chief Minister collected feedback on how the new tax reforms are being received in the markets. He emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has entered a new era of economic reforms, with GST rate reductions marking a historic milestone in India’s journey toward inclusive economic growth.

Highlighting the impact of the decision, CM Dhami said the lower GST slabs will make essential and consumer goods more affordable, directly benefiting the common man. He urged traders to proactively share complete information about the revised tax benefits with their customers so that every section of society could take advantage of the relief.

The Chief Minister also reiterated his call to strengthen the state and national economy by giving priority to indigenous and local products, stressing that “self-reliance begins with every purchase we make.”

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from both traders and the public. Many expressed happiness over the timing of this relief, noting that the decision—announced during the festive season of Navratri—has infused fresh energy and excitement in the markets. They said the GST celebration would not only ease the financial burden on households but also boost business sentiment ahead of the upcoming Diwali festival.

The event was also attended by MLA Vinod Chamoli, Vice President of State Disaster Management Advisory Committee Vinay Rohila, and BJP Metropolitan President Siddharth Agarwal, among others.
