High Court clears the way for Panchayat elections, big relief for Uttarakhand government

Nainital: In a significant development, the Uttarakhand High Court has lifted the ban on Panchayat elections, providing major relief to the state government. With this decision, the road is now clear for holding Panchayat polls across the state.

It is noteworthy that the state government had already completed preparations to conduct three-tier Panchayat elections in 12 districts of Uttarakhand, excluding Haridwar. Following the High Court’s order, the process to hold these elections is expected to begin shortly.
