Hill to Hi-Tech: CM Dhami Unveils Major Digital Initiatives in Uttarakhand

Dehradun:  Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, on Tuesday inaugurated several Information and Communication Technology-enabled services at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan in the CM Camp Office, announcing key initiatives to position Uttarakhand as a technologically advanced state.

On this occasion, the CM launched the ‘Digital Uttarakhand’ App, 66 government websites developed on the S3Waas platform, a GIS-based real-time tracking application for garbage collection vehicles in urban areas, AI-powered upgrades to the 1905 CM Helpline, and a web-based encroachment monitoring application.

Key Announcements by the Chief Minister

Next-Generation Data Centre – To be established with a dedicated disaster recovery mechanism.

AI Mission – To be launched soon and developed as a Centre of Excellence.

Next-Generation Remote Sensing & Drone Application Centre – To promote good governance.

Dedicated IT Cadre – Government to work towards its creation in the state.

Moving Towards ‘Hill to Hi-Tech’

The CM said Uttarakhand is not only a beautiful hill state but is also moving rapidly towards becoming a technology-driven state. The state government is working to realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India vision through continuous innovation.

The ‘Digital Uttarakhand’ App will allow citizens to access multiple government services from home, supporting the principle of ‘Minimum Government – Maximum Governance’.

Benefits of the New Initiatives

Government Websites – Will provide secure, transparent, and fast information to the public.

GIS Tracking – Will bring transparency in monitoring cleanliness operations in urban areas.

Encroachment App – Citizens can upload photos/videos to report encroachments for prompt action.

AI in CM Helpline – Enables automatic complaint categorisation, faster resolution, and improved follow-up monitoring.

The CM highlighted that e-education, e-health services, land record digitisation, smart classrooms, telemedicine, and the ‘Apni Sarkar’ portal are extending digital connectivity to 95% of the state’s villages.

The event was attended by MLA Khajan Das, Principal Secretary L. Fanai, Secretary Nitesh Jha, senior officials, and heads of various departments.
