Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, addressing a press conference at the Bharatiya Janata Party office on Tuesday, highlighted the remarkable achievements of the country as the Central Government completed 11 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that during this period, India has emerged as a strong, capable, and self-reliant nation with a distinct identity on the global stage.
Chief Minister Dhami stated that the government has consistently worked with the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” leading to inclusive development and national progress. He also emphasized the efforts made to preserve and promote India’s rich cultural heritage during these years.
Highlighting major accomplishments, he said schemes like Ayushman Bharat have revolutionized the healthcare sector, while Make in India has significantly boosted the country’s share in global exports. As a result, India now stands as the fourth-largest economy in the world — a truly historic achievement.
He pointed out that welfare schemes such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Kisan Samman Nidhi, and the Free Ration Scheme have benefited crores of citizens. According to CM Dhami, these efforts have contributed to an 80% decline in poverty, with over 27 crore people rising above the poverty line in the past 11 years.
The Chief Minister also commended landmark decisions like the abrogation of Article 370 and the ban on triple talaq, calling them bold steps that have further solidified India’s social and constitutional framework. He added that India is now not only producing indigenous defense equipment but also exporting them globally. The country’s Ease of Doing Business ranking has improved dramatically — from 142 to 63.
Providing relief to the middle class, the government has introduced tax exemptions under the new tax regime, with income up to ₹12.75 lakh now tax-free.
CM Dhami lauded the Centre’s initiatives in infrastructure development. He noted that 99% of the country’s villages are now connected by roads, and an average of 34 kilometers of national highways are being built every day. Rail and air connectivity are also expanding at a rapid pace.
He welcomed the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, which provides for 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies. Additionally, under Startup India, the country has become the third-largest startup ecosystem in the world.
Turning to Uttarakhand, the Chief Minister said that the state’s development has gained significant momentum under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. Major projects like the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line and the Delhi-Dehradun elevated expressway are progressing swiftly. The upcoming Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib ropeways will offer enhanced convenience to pilgrims.
CM Dhami described the past 11 years of the Modi-led Central Government as a “golden era of nation-building” and asserted that India is steadily advancing toward the goal of becoming a developed nation under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
