Dehradun, 03 July: The nomination process for the three-tier panchayat elections in Dehradun district is underway with a notable increase in participation. As per data from the District Election Control Room, a total of 1068 nomination papers have been submitted so far, against 4050 posts across all development blocks.
On 02 July, the first day, 125 nominations were submitted.
On 03 July, the count surged to 943 nominations.
Out of the total 1068 nominations filed, the breakup is as follows:
452 for Gram Panchayat members,
384 for Pradhan Gram Panchayat,
201 for Kshetra Panchayat members, and
31 for Zilla Panchayat members.
Overall, elections will be held for 4050 posts, which include:
3395 Gram Panchayat members,
409 Pradhan Gram Panchayat members,
220 Kshetra Panchayat members, and
26 Zilla Panchayat members.
So far, 4060 nomination papers have been sold, reflecting keen interest among prospective candidates.
