DEHRADUN: The Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert for the next 24 hours, effective from 10:07 AM on August 4, 2025, to 10:07 AM on August 5, 2025.
During this period, heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Bageshwar, Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, Pauri, and Tehri.
The alert specifically mentions the possibility of intense weather conditions in areas such as Mussoorie, Doiwala, Chakrata, Roorkee, Laksar, Devprayag, Srinagar, Kapkot, Ramnagar, Mukteshwar, Kotdwar, and surrounding regions.
Local authorities have advised residents to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary, avoid going near rivers or streams, and follow all safety instructions issued by the weather department and district administration.
