According to Pandit Kamleshwar Prasad Chamoli, Acharya – the festival of Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on 31st August only. The reason behind this is that Bhadra will be observed on August 30 and it is not auspicious to celebrate Raksha Bandhan during the time of Bhadra. That’s why all of you are appealed to celebrate the festival of Raksha Bandhan on 31st August only. On August 31, the full moon will remain till 7:30 am. But the date which prevails at the time of sunrise is considered completely valid till sunset. Uttarakhand Vidt Sabha Dehradun has also decided the same.
