Ration Distribution at Subsidized Rates Using New E-Pass Machines in Dehradun

Dehradun: Under the National Food Security Scheme, ration distribution in Dehradun will now be streamlined through the use of new e-pass machines, which will be deployed across all ration shops in the district starting May 2025.

Currently, beneficiaries under the scheme receive 2 kg of rice per person per month and 13.300 kg of wheat per ration card per month. Additionally, under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), 21.700 kg of rice per unit is being provided at subsidized rates.

In a new initiative, 1 kg of ragi will also be distributed free of cost per ration card to both Priority Households (PHH) and AAY beneficiaries. The quantity of rice distributed will be adjusted accordingly to account for this addition.

All regional food officers and supply inspectors have been instructed to ensure the distribution of food grains through the newly installed e-pass machines, ensuring transparency and efficiency in the ration distribution process.
