SSP Dehradun formed SIT in the minor gang rape case

Dehradun. Keeping in mind the seriousness of the gang rape case of a 16-year-old minor girl inside the ISBT premises, SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh  constituted a special SIT team of joint experts under the leadership of SP City for a thorough investigation of the entire case. For this, a SIT police team comprising of mobile surveillance, CCTV cameras and investigation experts along with the forensic team have been sent for intensive investigation from Delhi to Dehradun. After leaving Delhi, where did the bus stop at various hotels, dhabas etc. on its way to Dehradun. Keeping all these things in mind, the joint SIT team will investigate and collect all kinds of evidence and proofs related to the case. So that the accused can be given the harshest punishment by presenting solid evidence on every aspect related to the case before the court.

It may be recalled that on 13 August 2024, late night, a 16-year-old partially mentally deranged minor girl was allegedly gang-raped in a bus in the ISBT Dehradun premises. As soon as the matter came to light, the Chairperson of the Uttarakhand State Commission for Women (USCW) reached the Government Girls’ Home at 6.30 am. Where she met the victim girl along with SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh and District Probation Officer and inquired about her condition.

The USCW Chairperson met the victim and took complete information about the incident. After getting information about the incident, she has instructed SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh to seriously investigate the matter and take strict action against all the accused, no accused, no witness should be spared.

On the basis of the statement of the victim, it has been concluded that the girl is originally a resident of Moradabad area of ​​​​Uttar Pradesh, who is partially mentally deranged. Whose parents are not there.

On the night of 13th August, on the information of the guard posted at ISBT, the team of Child Welfare Committee (CWC) rescued the girl found in a distraught state from the spot. After counseling of the girl by the committee, the incident came to light on which the CWC team has registered a case at the ISBT Chowki on Saturday. In this incident, the police has seized two buses, one from Dehradun and one from Rishikesh.
