Strong winds, thunder, heavy rain and hailstorm in Doon. The mercury recorded a drop of 3 to 4 degrees

In Dehradun today around 1:30 pm, it started raining at a rapid pace with strong winds and thunder. In a short while, hailstorm also fell along with heavy rain. Hail fell for 10 to 15 minutes but the rain continued till 4:30 pm. As a result, the mercury dropped by three to four degrees approximately in Dehradun. Today’s rain has brought relief to the people from the scorching heat. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for all the districts of Uttarakhand. According to the Meteorological Department, the next 24 hours are sensitive for the whole of Uttarakhand. There is a possibility of a storm with a speed of 70 to 80 km per hour with strong winds, lightning and hail at different places in Dehradun, Tehri, Nainital and Almora. There is a possibility of strong winds with strong thunderstorms in the plains of Uttarakhand. Along with this, there is a possibility of hailstorm along with heavy rain. There is a possibility of strong winds with a speed of 70 to 80 kmph in the plains of Uttarakhand.

According to the weather forecast, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds, lightning, hailstorm at different places in Dehradun, Tehri, Nainital and Almora on May 31. Strong winds can blow in the plains and there is a possibility of hailstorm with rain. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for all the districts of Uttarakhand and appealed to be alert.

In Dehradun, a drop in temperature has been recorded due to heavy rain and hailstorm accompanied by strong winds. The temperature of Doon has dropped by three to four degrees. Due to which people have got relief from the scorching heat. Even in the plains, people can get relief from the scorching heat.
