Dehradun – The second phase of the three-tier Panchayat elections in Dehradun district concluded peacefully on Monday, with voters turning out in large numbers to cast their votes. Voting took place in the development blocks of Doiwala, Raipur, and Sahaspur, recording an overall turnout of 77.25 per cent.
In comparison, the first phase of voting—held earlier in Chakrata, Kalsi, and Vikas Nagar—had seen a slightly higher turnout of 78.49 per cent. All polling booths in the second phase reported a peaceful and orderly voting process.
Voter enthusiasm was notable throughout the day, with long queues seen from morning till evening. Senior citizens, differently-abled individuals, women, and first-time voters all participated with zeal.

Voter Turnout: 86.59%
Doiwala:
Total Registered Voters: 1,42,274 (Men: 72,488 | Women: 69,786)
Votes Cast: 1,02,858 (Men: 48,282 | Women: 54,576)
Voter Turnout: 72.30%
Following the successful completion of voting, polling parties have returned and deposited ballot boxes and election materials at the designated strong rooms. All ballot boxes have been sealed under tight security, with CCTV surveillance and additional security measures in place.
Counting of votes will begin at 8 AM on July 31, and results will be declared for all development blocks in Dehradun district thereafter.
