Two COVID Cases Reported in Uttarakhand, Health Department on Alert

Both individuals who tested positive had recently traveled to Uttarakhand from other states.

Dehradun: With COVID-19 cases once again rising across the country, two fresh cases have been confirmed in Uttarakhand, prompting the state health department to step up its vigilance.

According to Dr. Sunita Tamta, Director General of Health, both individuals who tested positive had recently traveled to Uttarakhand from other states.

The first case involves a 57-year-old woman who arrived in Rishikesh from Gujarat. After testing positive for COVID-19, she was admitted to AIIMS Rishikesh for treatment.

The second case is a female doctor from AIIMS Rishikesh who recently returned from Bengaluru. She has tested positive as well and is currently under home isolation.

As of now, no local transmission of the virus has been reported in the state. However, the health department is maintaining a heightened state of alert and implementing all necessary precautionary measures to prevent further spread.
