UKSSSC Cancels Graduate-Level Examination After Paper Leak Allegations
CM Dhami Orders Fresh Test Within 3 Months
Dehradun: The Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has cancelled its controversial graduate-level recruitment examination conducted on September 21, following widespread allegations of a paper leak. The decision came after Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the commission to annul the examination based on the interim report of the single-member judicial inquiry committee headed by Justice (Retd.) J.C. Dhyani of the Uttarakhand High Court.
The examination, conducted across all districts of the State, had come under heavy scrutiny when screenshots of the question paper surfaced on social media platforms while the test was still underway. Following the incident, student associations and unemployed youth organisations, including the Uttarakhand Berozgar Sangh (UBS), launched a series of protests demanding the cancellation of the exam and a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities.
Initially, the State government had maintained that the integrity of the examination was intact. However, on September 29, in a significant move, CM Dhami personally visited the UBS protest site and assured the demonstrators that the government would order a CBI probe and constitute a judicial commission to investigate the matter.
Acting on the findings of the commission’s interim report, the Chief Minister ordered the cancellation of the examination on Saturday, instructing UKSSSC to conduct the test again within three months.
