Lalkuan (Nainital) – Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 27 development projects totaling ₹126.69 crore in a grand public event held in Lalkuan on Saturday. Of these, 9 projects worth ₹25.93 crore were inaugurated, while the foundation stone was laid for 18 new schemes estimated at ₹100.76 crore.
These projects span key sectors including education, healthcare, irrigation, roads, sewerage, urban development, cow protection and tourism. CM Dhami said the initiatives will significantly strengthen the region’s infrastructure and improve public amenities.
Highlighting the state’s ongoing development efforts, he said that numerous transformative projects are underway to make Nainital an ideal district. These include a mental hospital, cancer institute, sports university, ring road, solid waste management systems, multi-storey parking, an astro park, and a pollinator park. He also cited the Jamrani Multi-Purpose Dam and Khurpiya Industrial Smart City as long-term game-changers for the Terai region.
Addressing the public, the Chief Minister emphasized the government’s balanced approach toward development while preserving cultural identity and social harmony. He reiterated the state’s firm stand against illegal conversion, love jihad, and land encroachment, and highlighted Uttarakhand’s pioneering steps, including the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and the country’s strictest anti-copying law.
CM Dhami also underscored the state’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy against corruption, noting that over 200 corrupt individuals have been jailed in the past three years.

The event was attended by Union Minister and MP Ajay Bhatt, MLAs Banshidhar Bhagat, Mohan Singh Bisht, Ram Singh Kaida, Mayor Gajraj Bisht, and several other public representatives and officials. Senior officials including Chief Minister’s Office Secretary Deepak Rawat, DIG Riddhima Agarwal, DM Vandana Singh, and SSP P.N. Meena were also present.
