RUDRAPRAYAG: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, currently on a two-day spiritual tour of Uttarakhand, visited the sacred Kedarnath Dham on Monday, where she offered prayers and lauded the arrangements made for pilgrims.
Accompanied by her family, CM Gupta arrived at the Kedarnath helipad at 7 a.m., where she was warmly received by officials of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) and the Kedarnath Sabha. She then proceeded directly to the temple for a Rudrabhishek puja, praying for the well-being of the nation, Delhi, and all citizens.
Following the rituals, BKTC Chief Executive Officer Vijay Prasad Thapliyal presented her with prasad, a rudraksha mala, and vibhuti. BKTC Media In-charge Dr. Harish Gaur informed the press that CM Gupta expressed deep appreciation for the arrangements, calling her Kedarnath visit a profoundly emotional and spiritually enriching experience.
“Visiting Lord Kedarnath brings immense inner peace,” said Gupta, adding that the spiritual energy of the site is truly unique. She described the journey as unforgettable and commended the smooth management of travel, security and facilities for devotees.
Earlier, on Sunday, the Chief Minister arrived in Haridwar, where she was given a warm reception by members of the Ganga Sabha at the iconic Har Ki Pauri. She took a holy dip in the Ganga and offered prayers with her family.
Speaking to the media in Haridwar, CM Gupta shared her longstanding devotion to Maa Ganga, noting that she has visited the holy city many times. However, she said this visit held special significance as it marked the completion of 100 days of her government. She had come to pray for the continued development of the nation and the prosperity of Delhi as part of that progress.
