UTTARAKHAND NEWS: All Roads Must Be Pothole-Free Within 15 Days: CM Dhami Directs District Magistrates

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed all District Magistrates (DMs) to ensure that roads across all districts are made pothole-free within 15 days. He emphasized the need for enhanced public service delivery during a virtual meeting held on Monday from his residence.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister outlined key priorities including road repairs, smooth drinking water supply, and effective forest fire control. He urged DMs to take proactive steps in these areas, especially with the summer season approaching and the Char Dham Yatra set to begin.

“All District Magistrates should conduct regular on-site inspections. Control rooms must remain fully functional, and proper arrangements for traffic and facilities for devotees must be ensured,” said CM Dhami.

Additional directives included:

Launching anti-encroachment drives.

Conducting regular food sample testing.

Completing river dredging and drain cleaning ahead of monsoon season.

Organizing Janta Darbars, Tehsil Diwas, BDC meetings, and block-level multipurpose camps for swift grievance redressal.

Minimizing response times for forest fire emergencies.

Ensuring uninterrupted water and electricity supply.

Deploying water tankers where needed.

The CM also called for immediate transfer of government employees who have remained in the same posting for over three years. He emphasized that the benefits of state and central welfare schemes should reach all eligible citizens, with awareness campaigns to boost participation.

Senior officials including Additional Chief Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, ADGP A.P. Anshuman, MDDA Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari, Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat and all DMs joined the meeting virtually.
