UTTARAKHAND NEWS: CM Dhami hands over Appointment Letters to 112 New Transport Constables, Stresses Social Responsibility of Government Jobs

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday handed over appointment letters to 112 newly appointed transport constables during a ceremony held at the Chief Servant House, located at the Chief Minister’s residence.

Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami emphasized that a government job is not just a source of livelihood, but also a profound social responsibility. He urged the new appointees to uphold discipline, dedication, and transparency in their work, while maintaining a cooperative and communicative approach with the public.

“Our goal should be to ensure that public services function seamlessly, reducing the need for people to run from pillar to post,” he remarked.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also flagged off two promotional vehicles aimed at raising awareness about road safety along the Chardham Yatra route.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to clean governance, Dhami reiterated the administration’s “zero tolerance” policy against corruption. He noted that complaints are being actively addressed through toll-free number 1064 and that more than 200 individuals have been imprisoned for corruption-related offenses over the past three years.

Addressing the challenges in the transport sector, the Chief Minister pointed out the rising number of vehicles and associated accidents in the state. To tackle this, the government has introduced the New Uttarakhand Road Safety Policy 2025, launched in February 2025. The policy aims to cut the road accident death rate by 50% by the year 2030.

Reaffirming his government’s commitment to fair employment practices, CM Dhami said, “We are determined to provide job opportunities to deserving and talented youth through a transparent recruitment process.” He highlighted that over 23,000 government jobs have been provided in the last three years and praised the implementation of the nation’s toughest anti-cheating law, ensuring integrity in all recruitment examinations.

The event was attended by Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, MLA Khajan Das, Secretary Brijesh Kumar Sant, Additional Secretary Reena Joshi, officials from the Transport Department, and all newly appointed candidates.
