Dehradun: In a high-level meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Thursday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed officials to take firm and uncompromising action against corruption, illegal encroachments, and the use of fake documents.
To strengthen the anti-corruption drive, the Chief Minister stressed the need for widespread publicity of the toll-free number 1064, urging the public to actively report corrupt practices. He also instructed the concerned departments to expedite submission of detailed reports related to land conversion cases and ensure ongoing verification drives continue across all districts.
Highlighting the importance of authenticity in government documentation, Dhami directed officials to ensure rigorous and accurate verification procedures in the issuance of Aadhaar cards and other official documents. He warned that strict disciplinary action would be taken against employees found guilty of issuing forged or incorrect documents.
On the matter of illegal encroachments, the Chief Minister ordered the continuation of current anti-encroachment campaigns and emphasized that land already cleared should not be re-encroached. He also called for a comprehensive assessment of encroachments on enemy properties, with a detailed report to be submitted at the earliest.
Further, Dhami instructed that priority should be given to local workers in the construction of government infrastructure. He emphasized the incorporation of traditional hill architecture and the cultural identity of Uttarakhand in such projects.
Lastly, he directed officials to intensify security checks and strengthen border security, especially in sensitive areas.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Additional Director General of Police V. Murugeshan, A.P. Anshuman, Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman, and MDDA Vice President Banshidhar Tiwari.
