Dehradun: Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) extended warm greetings to the people of Uttarakhand on the joyous occasion of Baisakhi.
In his message, the Governor described Baisakhi as a vibrant celebration of joy, unity, and prosperity. He emphasized that the festival reflects India’s rich agricultural heritage and rural traditions, while also honoring the tireless efforts of farmers who are the backbone of the nation.
Highlighting its spiritual and historical significance, the Governor noted that Baisakhi holds a special place for the Sikh community, marking the creation of the Khalsa Panth by the Tenth Guru, Shri Guru Gobind Singh. He praised the Guru’s legacy of sacrifice, service, and dedication to humanity.
