CS Radha Raturi held a meeting with the officials for PM Modi’s proposed winter visit to Harshil-Mukhwa on 27 Feb.

DEHRADUN: Prime Minister Narendra Modi may visit Harshil-Mukhwa area of Uttarkashi district on 27 February for his winter visit. Preparations have been intensified at the level of the government and administration regarding the proposed visit of the Prime Minister.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi reviewed the outline and preparations of the proposed program by holding a meeting of the officials. The CS instructed the officials that the concerned departments should complete their preparations for this program on time and complete the assigned responsibilities flawlessly and make all the arrangements foolproof within the stipulated time.
CS Raturi said that this visit of the Prime Minister will provide an invaluable opportunity to promote winter tourism in Uttarakhand, hence special attention should be paid to highlighting the possibilities and capabilities of winter tourism in the programs to be organized during this period. She directed that all preparations should be ensured on time keeping in mind the protocol and security arrangements during the proposed programs of the Prime Minister in Harshil-Mukhwa. The Chief Secretary said that she herself will go to Harshil-Mukhwa along with the officials and inspect the preparations on the spot and check all the arrangements.
Raturi directed that appropriate arrangements should be made for the proposed program of the public meeting in Harshil including darshan-pujan of the Prime Minister at the Mukhwa temple and effective arrangements should also be made for parking and transport arrangements. Along with instructing the Secretary Tourism to organize an exhibition of winter tourist places of Uttarakhand in Harshil, she also said that an exhibition based on the local products of the state should also be organized on this occasion.
In the meeting, Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman, while giving a presentation about the proposed programs and expected arrangements, said that all the concerned departments should complete all the necessary preparations immediately.
On this occasion, District Magistrate Uttarkashi Dr. Meherban Singh Bisht said that all the necessary arrangements are being made in the district for the proposed program. Leveling work has been done in the premises of the Horticulture Department in Harshil for the Prime Minister’s program. Along with beautification of the temple and village buildings in Mukhwa, a convenient and safe path has been constructed for the temple. The roads of Harshil-Mukhwa area are being repaired. The construction work of the road up to Bagori helipad in Harshil is in its final stage and other nearby helipads are also being made perfect. Along with constructing parking in Harshil and Mukhwa, parking arrangements are also being made on the Gangotri Highway. To solve the problem of damage to drinking water lines due to freezing of water in winter, drinking water supply has been arranged by laying HDPE pipes of about five km length in this area. Along with repairing the electricity lines and changing the poles in this area, solar high mast lights and street lights have been installed. Three new smart toilets are being built in this area. The DM, while presenting the details of all other arrangements related to the program, said that all the preparations are in the final stage.
Director General of Police Deepam Seth, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretary Shailesh Bagauli along with officials of the government and police department, district administration also participated in the meeting.
