HALDWANI – Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami led the Tiranga Shaurya Samman Yatra in Haldwani on Saturday, a grand event commemorating the Indian Armed Forces’ historic victory in Operation Sindoor. The yatra, organized from Mini Stadium to Shaheed Park, witnessed massive public participation including ex-servicemen, youth, women, and local citizens, all marching with the tricolor in hand.
CM Dhami paid floral tributes to the martyred soldiers and saluted the valor of those involved in Operation Sindoor. He lauded the bravery of Indian soldiers and declared that India has demonstrated its capability to take decisive action against terrorism. He emphasized that the nation, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has sent a strong message to terrorism and its backers: New India responds in its own language.
Highlighting Uttarakhand’s deep military legacy, the Chief Minister called on the state’s youth to draw inspiration from the courage and discipline of the Armed Forces. “Every fifth soldier serving at the borders belongs to the brave land of Uttarakhand,” he said, expressing emotional pride in his own military family background.
Dhami praised the leadership of the Prime Minister for empowering the Army with state-of-the-art indigenous technology, asserting that Made in India weapons have played a pivotal role in strengthening India’s defense. “Our forces, equipped with advanced homegrown technology, have proven to be more effective than any in the world,” he said.
He revealed that after the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, PM Modi recognized the nation’s anger and gave the Indian Army a free hand. Operation Sindoor, executed without crossing Pakistan’s borders, not only eliminated terrorist bases but also targeted Pakistani military positions that supported terrorism—with the use of Indian drones and missiles.
Describing the Shaurya Samman Yatra as a tribute to the indomitable spirit of the Armed Forces, Dhami reiterated that India no longer tolerates terrorism. “Today, Indian bullets answer enemy bullets. Our forces stand ready to neutralize any threat.”
The yatra was also attended by several dignitaries and officials including MP Ajay Bhatt, MLAs Banshidhar Bhagat, Diwan Singh Bisht, Sarita Arya, and others, along with administrative officials like Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, IG Riddhim Aggarwal, District Magistrate Vandana, and SSP Prahlad Narayan Meena.
