UTTARAKHAND: Special Campaign to Clear Long-Pending CM Helpline Complaints

Dehradun – Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to launch a special campaign for resolving complaints pending for over 180 days on the CM Helpline 1905. Chairing a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat on Thursday, the CM expressed strong displeasure over delayed grievance redressal and issued strict warnings to officials found negligent in addressing complaints on time.

The Chief Minister also raised concern over the practice of “force closure” of complaints—where grievances are closed without proper resolution. He emphasized that every complaint must be resolved satisfactorily and announced efforts to make the CM Helpline a “best practice” model for the state.

Statewide Public Outreach Initiatives

To enhance grassroots governance and grievance redressal:

Tehsil Diwas will be held across all districts on the same day, with the CM set to make a surprise inspection in one district.

Similarly, Thana Diwas will also be observed statewide on a designated day.

Regular organization of Janta Darshan, Tehsil Diwas, and BDC meetings was directed to ensure prompt resolution of public issues.

Police and administrative authorities have been asked to intensify anti-encroachment and verification campaigns.

Focus on Model Villages and Infrastructure

The CM instructed that two villages per district be developed as Adarsh Gram (Model Villages), with nodal officers to be appointed immediately.

Regarding the power supply system, the CM ordered:

Replacement of damaged poles and transformers.

Safety audits of electricity infrastructure.

Action against officials in cases of low voltage or hanging wires.

Authorities were also directed to ensure no delay in building map approvals.

TB-Free Districts to Be Honored

The CM announced that the first three districts to achieve TB-free status will be given special recognition.

Departmental Performance on CM Helpline

Departments appreciated for good performance: Transport, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Excise, and Energy.

Departments needing improvement: Public Works, Geology & Mining, Revenue, Home, and Finance.

Common complaints received include: drinking water supply, street lighting, Jal Jeevan Mission connections, power outages, and electricity bills.

Direct Interaction with Complainants

During the meeting, the Chief Minister directly interacted with several complainants:

Upendra Singh Rawat (Uttarkashi): Drinking water issue to be resolved within a week.

Complaints of Alam (Haridwar – street lights) and Hridesh Negi (Dehradun – culvert construction) have been resolved.

Grievances of Gaurav Nautiyal (Chamoli) and Devendra (Nainital) were also addressed.

The meeting was attended by Infrastructure Monitoring Council Vice President Vishwas Dabur, Chief Secretary Dr. Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, DGP Deepam Seth, and secretaries and DMs of all districts (virtually).
