Sunny Deol recently expressed his excitement about his upcoming film, Lahore 1947, calling it a significant project in his career. During the trailer launch of his next movie, Jaat, the veteran actor described the Aamir Khan-backed film as a “big film,” highlighting its grand scale and impactful narrative. Sunny shared, “I was hoping to do big films, and it’s happening now. Lahore 1947 is coming this year.”
Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Lahore 1947 is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The movie marks a noteworthy collaboration between Sunny Deol, Aamir Khan, and acclaimed filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi, who is directing the period drama. Set against the backdrop of the Partition of India in 1947, the film features a stellar cast, including Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Abhimanyu Singh, and Ali Fazal in key roles.
Notably, the film marks Preity Zinta’s long-awaited return to the silver screen after a seven-year hiatus. A source close to the production revealed that the film was completed in a rigorous 70-day schedule without breaks. “The shoot was intense but rewarding. Watching such seasoned actors bring a magical essence to the film was an incredible experience,” shared the insider.
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol is preparing for the release of his action-packed film Jaat, which features Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, and Regina Cassandra. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the film is slated to release on April 10.
Reflecting on the making of Jaat, Sunny said, “This journey began during Gadar 2. We were all excited to create something special. After considering several directors, Gopi agreed to take on the project. During our meeting in Goa, he narrated a different story, ‘Sorry Bol’, with such conviction that it pulled me into the world of Jaat. And that’s how this film came to be.”
With two major releases lined up, Sunny Deol’s fans are eagerly awaiting his powerful performances in both Lahore 1947 and Jaat.
