Dehradun | July 16, 2026

The draft electoral roll for Dehradun district has been officially published as part of the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision programme. Eligible voters whose names, addresses, age, gender, or other personal details contain errors—or whose records could not be properly mapped—can now submit claims and objections to have their information corrected.

The correction window will remain open from July 14 to August 13, 2026.

A training session for Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) was held at the Municipal Corporation Auditorium under the chairmanship of District Election Officer Dr. Ashish Chauhan and Additional District Election Officer Abhinav Shah. Officials were trained on verification procedures, document scrutiny, hearing protocols, and digital processing of applications.

Dedicated ERO and AERO Offices

Dedicated ERO and AERO offices will be established in every Assembly constituency to facilitate voter services. Individuals whose records contain discrepancies will receive an official notice at least seven days before the scheduled hearing, enabling them to present valid supporting documents.

Applicants will be required to submit any one of the 11 documents approved by the Election Commission for verification. Following the hearing, officials will digitally upload their findings and recommendations.

District Election Officer Issues Key Instructions

Dr. Ashish Chauhan instructed officials to prepare Assembly-wise and booth-wise discrepancy lists, maintain acknowledgement receipts of notices, and ensure transparent disposal of all claims. He also directed authorities to provide adequate public facilities at hearing centres, including drinking water, seating arrangements, toilets, uninterrupted power supply, and reliable internet connectivity.
