Nearly 5 Crore Shiva Devotees Visit Haridwar During Kanwar Mela 2026, CM Dhami Expresses Gratitude
Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the millions of Shiva devotees who visited Haridwar during the successful and well-organised Kanwar Mela 2026. In a message shared on his social media account, the Chief Minister said that nearly 5 crore Shiva devotees reached Haridwar this year, reflecting their unwavering faith in Lord Shiva.
CM Dhami said that Uttarakhand witnessed a remarkable expression of devotion during this year’s Kanwar Mela, where faith, service, discipline and effective management came together on an unprecedented scale.
He said the massive turnout of devotees not only reflected their deep devotion to Lord Shiva but also demonstrated their trust in Uttarakhand’s tradition of service and hospitality.
The Chief Minister appreciated the coordinated efforts of the administration, police, health department, disaster management teams, sanitation workers, voluntary organisations, religious and social institutions, as well as local residents, in ensuring that the massive religious gathering remained safe and well-managed.
He said that organising an event of such enormous scale is a major responsibility and requires close coordination among multiple departments and organisations. Arrangements related to devotee safety, traffic management, sanitation, health services and other essential facilities played an important role in the successful conduct of Kanwar Mela 2026.
CM Dhami expressed his heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to all the Shiva devotees who participated in the Kanwar Mela, as well as officials, security personnel, healthcare workers, sanitation staff, volunteers, religious and social organisations and local citizens whose collective efforts contributed to the smooth conduct of the event.
The Chief Minister prayed to Lord Shiva for the continued well-being of all devotees and wished that Mahadev bless them and fulfil their heartfelt wishes.
