Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Extends Valmiki Jayanti Greetings, Urges People to Follow Maharishi Valmiki’s Ideals

Chief Minister highlights the values of truth, love, duty, equality and social harmony

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of the state on the eve of Valmiki Jayanti and urged them to embrace the ideals, teachings and values of Maharishi Valmiki in their daily lives.

In his message, the Chief Minister said that the life and literary contributions of Maharishi Valmiki inspire people to follow the path of truth, love, dedication to duty and moral values. He noted that the revered sage made an invaluable contribution to Indian literature and culture through the composition of the Ramayana, regarded as the Adi Kavya, or the first epic poem.

Dhami said that the Ramayana presents enduring examples of an ideal life, ethical conduct, human values and a strong sense of duty. Its teachings continue to inspire individuals to uphold dignity, compassion and moral responsibility in their personal and social lives.

The Chief Minister further stated that Maharishi Valmiki conveyed the message of social harmony, equality, mutual respect and humanity through his life and teachings. He emphasised that these values remain relevant today and provide guidance for building an inclusive, equitable and harmonious society.

Dhami said that Valmiki Jayanti is not only an occasion to pay tribute to the great sage but also an opportunity to reaffirm the commitment to his ideals and strengthen the spirit of brotherhood, equality and mutual respect in society.

The Chief Minister appealed to the people of Uttarakhand to incorporate Maharishi Valmiki’s teachings into their conduct and follow the path shown by him. He said that putting the sage’s noble ideals into practice is the true expression of reverence and respect for his legacy.
