Uttarakhand Chardham Teertha Purohit Mahapanchayat’s Members, Panda Pujaris call on CM Dhami

DEHRADUN: Members of Uttarakhand Char Dham Tirtha Purohit Mahapanchayat and Panda Pujaris called on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Secretariat on Thursday, 12 December. They expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for the initiative taken by the Chief Minister for the winter Darshan Yatra in the winter stay places of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.

During this, CM Dhami stressed that along with the Char Dham Tirtha Purohit Maha Panchayat, all other related institutions and organizations will also have to cooperate in the successful conduct of this winter yatra of Uttarakhand. He said that all the concerned officers have been instructed to ensure necessary arrangements for the successful conduct of the winter yatra. The winter yatra will also help in boosting the economy of the state and will provide employment opportunities to the local people. Along with Panch Badri and Panch Kedar, instructions have also been given to the officials to develop the major pilgrimage and tourist places around the winter yatra stay of the Char Dhams. He said that instructions have been given to all the concerned departmental officers to ensure effective arrangements for smooth traffic and parking in the populated areas of the Chardham Yatra routes.

Members of Maha Panchayat and Panda Pujaris shared information the Chief Minister that after the portals of the four Dhams of Uttarakhand, Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham are closed for winter. The winter worship of these Dhams: Maa Yamuna’s at Kharsali (Khushi Math), Maa Ganga’s at Mukhwa (Mukhimath), Kedarnath’s worship is done in Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath and Uddhav and Kuber’s worship is done in Pandukeshwar and Narasimha Temple of Jyotirmath, the seat of Shankaracharya. They requested the Chief Minister to widely publicize the winter worship places of the four Dhams as well as to provide basic facilities in these worship places.

On this occasion, Chairman of Chardham Maha Panchayat and Secretary of Gangotri Temple Committee Suresh Semwal, General Secretary of Maha Panchayat Brijesh Sati, Media Incharge Rajnikant Semwal, Ganga Purohit Sabha President Sanjeev Semwal, Nikhlesh Semwal, Anirudh Uniyal, Jagmohan Uniyal, Umesh Sati, Prashant Dimri and others were present.
