UTTARAKHAND NEWS: CM inaugurates 74 schemes worth Rs 188.07 crores

CM inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 74 schemes worth 188.07 crores.

This included inauguration of 36 works   worth 111.22 crore & foundation stones of 38 works worth 76.85 crores.

The schemes included the inauguration of Electric Vehicle charging (EV) Charging Stations at four locations. 

Foundation stone was laid for 2 automated parking and one ground floor parking.

CM flagged off 3 rescue & rehabilitation vehicles for prevention of child beggary.

Letter management desk was also inaugurated in the office of District Magistrate Dehradun.

DEHRADUN: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of a total of 74 schemes worth 188.07 crores at Kanak Chowk, Dehradun on Sunday, 22 December. Which includes 36 inauguration works worth Rs 111.22 crore and 38 foundation stone laying works worth Rs 76.85 crore.

Under this, inauguration of electric vehicle charging stations at four places in Dehradun, foundation stone laying of 2 automated parking lots and one ground floor parking to be built at a cost of approximately Rs 11 crore are also included. On this occasion, the Chief Minister flagged off 3 rescue and rehabilitation vehicles under child beggary prevention efforts and also inaugurated the letter management desk in the District Magistrate Dehradun office.

The Chief Minister said that the schemes related to various sectors including education, health, roads, drinking water, irrigation, flood protection and urban development have been inaugurated and the foundation stone has been laid. These development schemes will provide great convenience to the people of Dehradun and surrounding areas. 2 automated parking lots and one ground floor parking to be built at a cost of about 11 crores for crowded places in Dehradun city will provide relief to people from traffic jams and will also save time and resources. Under the child beggary prevention efforts, 3 rescue and rehabilitation vehicles being started from today will play an important role in the rehabilitation of children begging in the city. With the start of letter management desk in Dehradun District Magistrate’s office, the tracking and management process of letters coming to the District Magistrate’s office will be strengthened. 

The Chief Minister said that with the guidance and support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is continuously working for the overall development of Uttarakhand. Smart water management has been started along with the construction of smart toilets under the Dehradun Smart City Project. Along with setting up smart schools, a state-of-the-art library with a capacity of 650 readers has been constructed at Lansdowne Chowk. 30 electric buses are being operated to promote environmental protection in the city. A 300-bed cancer hospital is being built at Harrawala. Mental Health Institute Selaqui has also been upgraded. Work is being done to develop Dehradun as an ideal city. Dehradun has also been included among the 5 best cities in the country under the National Clean Air Program by the Ministry of Environment, Government of India.

CM Dhami stressed that with the resolve to keep Dehradun free from air pollution, 4 electric vehicle charging stations have been launched in the city. The process of setting up electric vehicle charging stations is also underway at 7 other places. On one hand, through electric charging stations, the city dwellers will get the facility to charge their electric vehicles, while on the other hand, efforts for environmental protection will also be strengthened.

On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, MLA Khajan Das, Sahdev Singh Pundir, Savita Kapoor, outgoing Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, BJP leaders Puneet Mittal, Anil Goyal, Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal, Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, Municipal Commissioner Namami Bansal and district level officers were present.
