Civic Polls: Dhami releases BJP manifesto, calls it Sankalp Patra for the municipal elections

CM emphasised the need for a triple-engine government in urban bodies. 

DEHRADUN: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami released the BJP’s manifesto, called Sankalp Patra for the municipal elections in the presence of Cabinet Ministers Satpal Maharaj, Subodh Uniyal, Prem Chand Aggarwal and ganesh Joshi.  The manifesto unveiled on 15 January at the BJP’s State headquarters, highlights the State government’s achievements, future plans for urban development and the BJP’s commitment to elevating the standard of living for every citizen. The party also released separate manifestos for all 11 municipal corporations in Uttarakhand.

Releasing the party manifesto (the Sankalp Patra) CM Dhami stated that the auspicious occasion of Uttarayan would also herald the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and the hosting of National Games in the state for the first time.

Describing the party manifesto as a guarantee for development of all the urban local bodies, CM Dhami added that the manifesto includes plans to strengthen urban infrastructure through initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Mission, Smart City projects and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The BJP also emphasised its commitment to women empowerment through schemes like Lakhpati Didi, Kanyadhan and Gaura Devi Yojana. Besides this, the manifesto outlined extensive support for youth, mentioning skill development programmes and self-employment initiatives. 

CM claimed that a detailed plan of development in various urban local bodies has been presented through the manifesto for the next five years. He emphasised that the manifesto is roadmap to raise the standard of living of every citizen in the cities of Uttarakhand. He further added that the Sankalp Patra is a letter of guarantee from the BJP for the overall development.
