UTTARAKHAND: CM Dhami felicitates 261 Sanskrit students

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami felicitated 261 Sanskrit students in the Sanskrit Student Pratibha Samman and Scholarship Distribution Program.

DEHRADUN: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami felicitated 261 students associated with Sanskrit education in a program organized by the Sanskrit Education Department at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan located at the Chief Minister’s residence on 16 February.

During the event, he awarded a total of 24 meritorious students of 10th and 12th for 2024-25 in Sanskrit Chhatra Pratibha Samman. In this, the first, second and third place holders were awarded an amount of Rs 5100, Rs 4100 and Rs 3100, respectively.

A total of 148 students were honoured for Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Sanskrit Scholarship Scheme 2024-25. Similarly, the Chief Minister awarded a total of 89 girl students under the Gargi Sanskrit Girl Scholarship Scheme 2024-25.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister motivated the students of Sanskrit education, stating that the Uttarakhand government is constantly striving for the preservation and promotion of Sanskrit. He reminded that for the first time, Gargi Sanskrit Girl Scholarship Scheme has been launched through Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy to encourage girls studying in Sanskrit schools. Under which, an annual scholarship of Rs 3012 is being provided to girls of all classes studying in Sanskrit schools.

Similarly, an annual scholarship of Rs 3012 is being provided to eligible students under Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Scholarship Scheme.

Sanskrit Chhatra Pratibha Samman Yojana is being run to motivate meritorious students of Sanskrit education. Under which, three students securing the highest marks in Sanskrit education in high school and intermediate examination are being provided an amount of Rs 5100, 4100 and 3100 respectively on securing first, second and third positions. The CM mentioned that the government is working to develop 13 Sanskrit villages in 13 districts of the state. Through Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy, Haridwar, the government is constantly striving to promote the Dev Bhasha Sanskrit by organizing various programs like All India Research Conference, All India Astrology Conference, All India Veda Conference, All India Kavi Sammelan, Sanskrit Education Skill Development Training Workshop, Sanskrit Student Competition etc. every year.

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is going through the upliftment of its ancient original heritage and culture. The identity and symbols that display the ancient splendor and glory of India are being preserved and promoted. Uttarakhand is also going through a phase of innovation in every direction. The decisions taken at the local level in Uttarakhand are also working as a guide at the national level. New dimensions of development are being established every day. He said that the migrants of Uttarakhand are also feeling proud that the Devbhoomi of their ancestors is going through a phase of rapid progress.

Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, MLA Sarita Kapoor, Secretary Sanskrit Education Deepak Kumar Gairola, Director Sanskrit Education Anand Bhardwaj etc. were present in the program.
