Mahashivratri 2025: The festival of Mahashivratri is known as a holy festival in Hinduism. Devotees have special faith in this festival. On this day, devotees do special worship of Lord Shiva and keep fast for the whole day.
According to the Hindu calendar, the festival of Mahashivratri is celebrated on the Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha of Falgun month. This year Mahashivratri is being celebrated on 26 February.
According to Pandit Kamleshwar Prasad Chamoli, Acharya, this year the Jalabhishek Muhurta of Mahashivratri festival will start from 5:30 in the morning and the auspicious time for offering water will be till 8:30 in the night.
According to Acharya, there is special importance of offering milk / curd / honey / sugar / ghee / (panchamrit) fruits, sweets, Bilva leaves, cannabis, Dhatura and whole mung beans in the worship of Lord Shiva.
